GBV Awareness
Speaking out for safer homes, schools and communities.
Why GBV Awareness matters
Gender-based violence (GBV) affects far too many women, girls and families in South Africa. Through our GBV awareness campaigns, TruCam empowers learners and community members to recognise abuse, challenge harmful myths and advocate for safer communities.
Our campaigns include community marches, school talks and powerful stage performances by our pageant contestants, who use their platform to carry messages of dignity, consent and respect. We also share helpline information so that anyone affected knows where to find help.
Programme highlights
- Awareness marches and community dialogues
- Stage performances carrying anti-GBV messages
- Education on consent, respect and healthy relationships
- Sharing helplines and support services
